Carbon Fiber Tube
The same carbon fiber tube we use in our own spearguns, now available for your DIY builds.
Designed to provide a clean and solid hole for stainless steel shafts, these tubes offer the perfect combination of strength and low weight.
Carbon fiber handles the mechanical load where it matters most, provides an ideal solution in an area that it is very hard to seal, and keeps its integrity dive after dive.
Available in two diameters to suit the most common axle diameters:
- 6mm inner diameter / 8mm outer diameter – for 6mm shafts.
- 8mm inner diameter / 10mm outer diameter – for 8mm shafts.
Select your size and specify the length you need in centimeters.
Make sure you select 1 cm longer than your final width so you can sand or mill down to the proper width after installation.
Installation Instructions
- Drill a hole in the wood that is the same size as the outer diameter of the carbon fiber tube. The goal is to have a hole that the tube can slide in by hand.
- Sand the outer surface of the carbon fiber tube.
- Lightly sand the inside of the hole by rolling a small piece of sand paper.
- Clean the surface of the carbon fiber tube and the inside of the hole.
- Apply epoxy resin to the inside of the hole and the outer surface of the carbon fiber tube.
- Press the carbon fiber tube in the hole and center it properly.
- After the resin cures you can work on the area and sand or mill to final dimensions.
